The NT books Ephesians and Colossians are short letters written by Paul the Apostle to the churches in Ephesus and Colossae, situated in the then Asia Minor, now Turkey. Both are closely related and might have been written at the same time, during his Roman imprisonment. In Ephesians Paul encourages his readers to stand firm in faith in the gospel even in the face of persecution, and emphasises that salvation is a gift from God and not earned by merit.

In Colossians he presents Christ as the Supreme God in whom are present all that are needed for spiritual growth and that there is no need to go to any other teaching for that purpose.

Both are deeply relevant to modern day believers to hold fast to Christ and to practically grow up as his disciples.
